Dr. Tony Ammeter

Dean of General Studies; Associate Provost of Outreach; Associate Professor of Management and Marketing, Analytics, and Professional Sales

Tony Ammeter has served as an Associate Provost since 2015. His leadership responsibilities in the Division of Outreach include regional campuses, online education, summer school, college, and pre-college special programs, and professional development and lifelong learning. He also serves as the Dean for the General Studies program, which includes the Bachelor of Multidisciplinary Studies and the bachelor of University Studies degree programs, as well as the Freshman Studies program for undecided students. As an Associate Provost, he assists the Provost in a variety of academic matters.

He holds a joint appointment as an Associate Professor in the Department of Management and the Department of Marketing, Analytics, and Professional Sales in the School of Business Administration. His research intersects organizational behavior issues, including leadership, political skill, trust, accountability, and the management of technology and technical workers. He has published in leading journals such as Information Systems Research, the Journal of Management, the Leadership Quarterly, Information & Management, Group and Organization Management, the Academy of Management Learning & Education, and the Journal of Business Ethics. He received his Ph.D. in Organization Science from the McCombs School of Business at the University of Texas at Austin.
