Ole Miss Pi Sigma Epsilon Attends National Conference

Recently, the Ole Miss Pi Sigma Epsilon Alpha Theta chapter visited Norfolk, Virginia, for the PSE National Conference. The conference was held Wednesday, March 29th through April 2nd with Laurie Babin (Chapter Adviser), Parker Holden (Chapter President) and Caroline Hopkins (VP of Human Resources) in attendance.

The keynote address was delivered by David Cooper, a retired USN Seal, and his talk was titled how to “Maximize the Moment.” Following, the group attended seminars on personal development, project management and mental health in business. As voting delegates, the group was allowed to sit in on the annual PSE business where new PSE National Board was decided.

Throughout the conference, the group was given the opportunity to connect and engage with multiple other PSE chapters and their members. These meetings gave the team a chance to learn other groups’ techniques and insights to apply toward the management of the Ole Miss chapter.

While the group did not compete in any of the competitions, they had the honor of watching the finalists present their speeches for the public speaking competition on the night of the scholarship dinner.

The Ole Miss team was given the opportunity to connect with PSE members through round table discussions and a career fair, where many companies were represented. This gave Parker and Caroline a chance to grow their network as a gateway for future connections with these companies.

“This was the most fantastic experience, from learning from different chapters, building relationships, gaining advice, and broadening our networks,” said Caroline. “We are eager to see what is in store for our PSE Alpha Theta chapter in the near future.”
