Business School Interns Learning New Skills

Meet Lauren Munnell, one of the business school’s interns. She is a junior from Nashville, Tennessee, majoring in finance. Following graduation in May 2025, Lauren aims to work as a financial advisor or director of marketing.

“Since becoming an intern for the school of business, I have been able to gain a lot of knowledge within the business world, both through the faculty helping me and the work I have done,” she said. “I have also been able to gain a sense of the real-world working environment which will better prepare me for the business world when I graduate.”

Lauren is passionate about being a member of the business school. “The business school has done everything to make me feel valued and seen me for my full potential,” she said. “It was scary having huge classrooms with over 100 students not knowing if the professor would even know my name, but each of my professors have always remembered who I was, helped me when I needed it, and encouraged me to be my very best self and reach my goals. It has been the best experience ever.”

Along with her academic schedule and internship, Lauren is a member of Kappa Delta sorority, Women in Business, the Rotaract Club, Period UM and OM Campus Outreach. She is also a Provost Scholar and involved in Big Event, CASA Encore, and the National Society of Collegiate Scholars. Way to go, Lauren!
