Michelle Thompson joined the Mississippi Small Business Development Center in 2018 as communications specialist after spending 9 years with the UM Field Station / National Institute for Undersea Science and Technology as a marketing and outreach manager. Prior to working at the university, she worked with national trade publications in sales and marketing for 10 years.
Michelle is a proud UM Alum with a BA in English married to a MSU alum, which occasionally causes strife around the Thanksgiving holiday. She enjoys reading, live music, photography, kayaking and playing with her rescue dog Tula and two rescue cats, Chilli and Diesel.
