Faculty Spotlight: Lisa Cooley
OXFORD, Miss. – Lisa Cooley comes to Ole Miss from Delta State University, where she was an Assistant Professor of Marketing and held roles including MBA Coordinator and Interim Assistant Dean for the College of Business and Aviation.
Cooley has taught numerous classes, including social media marketing, sports marketing, strategic marketing, and business communication. Her research includes consumer behavior, entrepreneurial ecosystems, and the applications of artificial intelligence in business.
At DSU, Cooley received teaching awards, including the Kossman Outstanding Teacher of the Year (2025), Panhellenic Outstanding Faculty Member of the Year (2025), Outstanding Faculty Teaching Award from the College of Business and Aviation (2024), the Student Engagement Educator of the Year (2023), and the Emerald Award of Excellence-Top Female Faculty (2022 & 2023).
Cooley is active in professional and community organizations, including the Executive Board for the MBAA International Conference and the North American Management Society (NAMS); she also serves on the Mississippi Entrepreneurship Forum Planning Committee. She has served on numerous community boards, including the Cleveland-Bolivar County Chamber, Cleveland Development Foundation, and Bolivar County Economic Development Foundation.
