Risk Management and Insurance Career Fair Connects Students to the Industry
OXFORD, Miss. – The Risk Management and Insurance program at Ole Miss is the oldest and largest of its kind in the United States—a distinction that has helped build a powerful and far-reaching network. Our graduates go on to successful careers as risk analysts, insurance agents, brokers, underwriters, and account managers across both commercial and personal lines.
The program is supported by award-winning faculty, a dedicated advisory board that mentors students, and a variety of career development events tailored specifically to the RMI field.
On October 8, the program hosted one of its biannual career fairs, welcoming over 20 employers from across the insurance industry. This event gave students the opportunity to connect with top companies, practice their interview skills, and gain confidence in presenting themselves professionally.
Beyond career fairs, RMI students can earn up to six credit hours through internships. At the conclusion of their internship, students submit a comprehensive report that includes a SWOT analysis—evaluating their employer’s strengths, weaknesses, opportunities, and threats—providing both academic insight and real-world application.
