University Pipeline Project

In mid-October, representatives from Mylo, a growing technological organization in the insurance sector, and School of Business industry partner, headquartered in Kansas City, visited the university to begin building a talent pipeline of strong viable candidates from Ole Miss Business to Mylo.

Jeremy Duane, Director of Sales, and Matt Dercher, a commercial insurance agent for Mylo, spent three days in Oxford connecting with students by participating in the Risk Management and Insurance Career Fair and presenting to marketing and management classes.

“I sincerely appreciate the hospitality displayed by the University of Mississippi during our visit,” said Duane. “We were welcomed with open arms by Hughes (Miller) and Tyler (Meisenheimer), delivering the true ‘Ole Miss experience.’ While on campus, we met a diverse, talented group of young adults eager to learn more about Mylo and the career opportunities we hold.  As we continue to seek these new professionals, I’m excited to see this partnership continue to expand and grow!”

Following their visit, Duane reported that nearly 40 student-applicants were being considered for the summer internship program at Mylo. David Embry, Mylo CEO, and Duane are also partnering with Ole Miss business faculty on the school’s BASE (Core for Business Analytics, Sales and Supply Technologies) initiative, which connects faculty expertise, student learning, and industry interests around the growing wave of analytics.
