OXFORD, Miss. – Alpha Kappa Psi put together a night of networking and career development for their annual Connect n' Sip event. There were various special guests who spoke about their experience in the business world. It was a great stepping stone for students to figure out how to navigate the professional world.

Alpha Kappa Psi at Ole Miss

Alpha Kappa Psi is a professional business fraternity at Ole Miss. Its mission is to help students grow into future business leaders by promoting leadership, professionalism, and ethical decision-making. The fraternity bridges classroom learning with real-world experience through events, service projects, and strong connections with alumni and the business community. The ultimate goal is to prepare students for successful careers.

Connect N’ Sip Event

On November 4th, Alpha Kappa Psi hosted its annual Connect N’ Sip event. This gathering gave students the chance to network with alumni and industry leaders in a relaxed, professional setting. The event began with a panel of experienced professionals who shared advice on building careers and navigating the business world.

Around 100 students attended, including both fraternity members and non-members.

Panelists

  • Angela Robinson – Senior Associate Athletics Director for Financial Operations at Ole Miss. She manages the university’s athletics finances and has been part of the staff since 2009. Angela earned both her bachelor’s and master’s degrees in Accountancy at Ole Miss and is a Certified Public Accountant.
  • Randy Ivy – Biologics Territory Manager at Sun Pharma. With a background in sales across pharmaceuticals and electronics, Randy is known for consistently achieving strong results. He graduated from Ole Miss with a B.B.A. in Marketing.
  • R.J. Hill – Marketing Professor at Ole Miss. Before teaching, he spent over 30 years at Nike in senior leadership roles in retail and brand management. He now uses that experience to prepare students for careers in marketing.
  • Ross Hester – Co-owner of Good Day Café in Oxford. Since opening in 2022, the café has become a local favorite for its food, wine, and welcoming atmosphere. Ross holds both a bachelor’s degree and an MBA from Ole Miss.
