Sporich Family Career Services has a remarkable year

OXFORD, Miss. – The Office of Career Services recently rebranded as the Sporich Family Career Services Office, thanks to a generous gift from the Sporich Family of Dallas, TX. Their support, along with contributions from other dedicated alumni and friends of the university, has significantly expanded the impact and reach of our programs.

As we prepare for a new academic year, the Sporich Family Career Services team proudly reflects on a year marked by high student engagement, strategic partnerships, and meaningful outcomes.

Personalized Coaching & Student Support
Over the past academic year, our team delivered more than 800 career coaching sessions. The top areas of focus were internships and experiential education (245 sessions) and résumé reviews (214 sessions). Student satisfaction was outstanding-100% of students reported a positive experience, and 99% said they would recommend our services to others.

Career Readiness Workshops & Outreach
Through 17 on-campus workshops and community outreach events, the office reached over 6,200 students and prospective students. With 96% overall satisfaction and 92% of attendees reporting skill growth, these events continue to be a core component of our student career preparation.

Expanding Career Connections
The office hosted 12 major career events, including the inaugural Futures in Finance Career Fair, connecting students with 77 employer partners. Nearly 1,000 students participated, expanding their networks and learning about real-world opportunities. 

Industry Exposure Through Career Treks
Two Career Treks to Jackson, MS, and Nashville, TN, gave 27 students immersive exposure to leading employers such as Chick-Fil-A, Coca-Cola, Dell Technologies, Frazier & Deeter, Insight Global, and Nissan. These experiences gave students firsthand perspectives on company culture and industry trends.

Internship Success & Support
The office supported 335 academic-credit internships across 25 states, with the highest concentrations in Florida, Mississippi, and Tennessee. Nearly 63% of internships were paid, with an average wage of $15.82/hour. Notably, 64.5% of the Class of 2025 completed an internship. Additionally, the Internship Support Fund awarded $3,000 in funding to assist students with travel and lodging costs.

Positive Career Outcomes
Ole Miss Business graduates reported over 90% positive career outcomes, with alumni launching careers in 41 states and internationally. The average starting salary was $57,000, reflecting strong market demand and student preparedness.

Elevated Student Outreach
Through targeted communications, our office delivered more than 238,000 email campaigns to promote jobs, events, and resources. With a 70% open rate (166,761 opens), this strategy continues to reach students effectively and at scale.
