He also serves as the treasurer for the campus Republicans and the portfolio manager for the Ole Miss Finance Club.

“I knew it would be a great opportunity and experience,” Roberts said. “I was excited to join, deepen my knowledge of investing, and take advantage of the fantastic networking opportunities it offers.”

As portfolio manager, Roberts oversees the consumer staples sector of the portfolio, managing $20,000 out of the $500,000 portfolio.

The funds are allocated by the Tennessee Valley Authority as part of their TVA Investment Challenge, where 20 different universities compete to achieve the highest return in the stock market over the course of the academic year. In the future, Roberts plans to work in Investment Banking, Private Equity, or become a business owner.
