OXFORD, Miss. – The University of Mississippi's online Master of Business Administration program has been named as one of the nation's best by U.S. News & World Report.

The ranking places Ole Miss in a five-way tie with Florida International University, Penn State World Campus, Texas Tech University and the University of Massachusetts at Lowell for No. 25 among public universities. The University of Florida, at No. 3, and Auburn University, at No. 21, were the only other Southeastern Conference schools in the Top 25.

"We are pleased that U.S. News continues to recognize our online MBA program as an outstanding and highly-ranked option for students to obtain a graduate degree in business," said Ken Cyree, dean of the School of Business Administration. "The online MBA is a tremendous value for students who wish to further their education and career.

"This external recognition is a testament to our dedicated faculty and staff who make the experience valuable for the students and assure that they are prepared to compete in the marketplace."

Master's programs in business administration are by far the most popular graduate business degree programs, according to U.S. News. The publication examined data from 364 schools to compile its rankings of this year's distance education MBA programs.

"The faculty at the University of Mississippi who teach in the MBA program challenge and push students to learn, work and achieve," said Robert Van Ness, director of graduate programs for the business school. "This ranking is a reflection of the efforts by the faculty and work of the students in the MBA program."

For the 2025 edition, U.S. News ranked online MBA programs based on faculty credentials and training, services and technology, student excellence and engagement, and peer assessment.

"Our online MBAs include very impressive professionals across the country," said Ashley McGee, MBA director of administration. "Many of our students are currently in mid to upper management positions, yet they want to continue to grow as they recognize the importance of being 'top notch' in their fields."
